Some councils require that those operating a laser hair removal business must have special treatment licence and an insurance policy. Most require that the therapist has level 4 Laser and IPL certificate alongside a manufacturing and core of knowledge certificate.

Most insurance companies require laser therapists to have the following credentials.

Level 2  - Beauty/facial/skincare

Level 3 - Fully accredited level 3 qualification 

Level 4 - Fully accredited level 4 laser and IPL certificate in hair removal and skin rejuvenation.
